- Ensures access control and compliance with PCL contractual security requirements, with respect to PCL and client policies.
- Administers contract security documents including Request for Visits, Security Requirements Check List (SRCL), personnel clearance database and vehicle access requests for project staff and any subcontractors.
- Provides input to the project security post orders for the project guard force.
- Acts as main liaison with external security personnel, guard force and security agencies in order to process clearances, site management and receive updates.
- Conducts regular site security briefings to site personnel and debriefs outgoing site personnel.
- Maintains and readily updates personnel clearance database and distributes up to date lists to access control contacts.
- Performs regular on-site inspections and audits across project construction sites to ensure all areas of corporate and project security program are being adhered to.
- Coordinates the development of project and/or building security plans that encompass elements of personnel, physical, and information security including IT.
- Possibility of travel to project sites throughout Nova Scotia and the Maritimes to support on site security at multiple project sites as required
- Other duties as required.
- 1-2 years of security experience in the PSPC Contract Security Program or in security related fields (e.g. policing, military, etc.).
- College diploma or higher-level education is preferred; however, a combination of education and experience with the proven ability to perform the job tasks may be accepted.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across the project.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Level II (Secret) clearance issued by the PSPC Contract Security Program.
- Demonstrated ability to understand the protocols and procedures for Security Requirement Checklist (SRCL) and Requests for Visits (RFV) as well as for the handling and safeguarding of classified and protect information and assets in accordance with the PSPC Contract Security Manual.
- Must possess a professional and customer focused attitude, with superior problem-solving abilities, and strong organization skills and communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal).
- Experience in creating and providing ID card and access control services is considered an asset.
- English is required, and French will be considered an asset.
- Experience in the Construction industry will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of the Controlled Goods Program will be considered an asset.
