This is a Casual OpportunityType: ReplacementJob DescriptionPerforming Ultrasound procedures as outlined in the protocol/procedure manuals such as but not limited to:
  • Operating, troubleshooting and ensuring that medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner
  • Preparing written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results
  • Maintaining high standards of practice and excellence in imaging quality and patient care
  • Assisting in data processing
  • Responsible for attending teaching, training, educational, research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities and other meetings as required
  • Participates in research, the safety and education of patients, and staff and students observing
  • Understands Hospital and departmental policies and procedures to provide input for designing imaging policies and procedures that will result in improvements in technical quality
  • Adhering to Hospital and departmental mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Performing cross-functional responsibilities as assigned, or requested
  • Performing other duties related to the job classification, as required.

  • Completion of a recognized degree/diploma Ultrasound program required
  • Current registration with the CMRITO required
  • Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification required
  • One (1) year recent related experience required
  • Contrast injection course preferred
  • Excellent problem recognition and problem-solving skills
  • Effective time management skills; ability to organize work and set priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member, as well as the ability to work as an autonomous professional
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment at all sites
  • Must be computer literate, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
  • Must be able to cover all shifts as required
  • Professional behavior and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital
  • This position plays a critical role in acting as an advocate for safety and will demonstrate principles, practices and processes that will optimize a safe environment for all
