We are expecting our new Kanata Terminal to open at the end of September 2025, however training will take place before at our Terminal on 3330 Hawthorne Rd, Ottawa ON.KANATA TERMINALStart Date: August 2025Location: 1400 Upper Canada St, Ottawa ON, K2T 0R5Scheduled Shift: Monday - Friday, 04:00 PM - 08:30 PM, 20 hours weeklyPay-rate: $18.90 per hour (next salary increase after 3 months of service as per Collective Agreement)Vacancies: 1 positions availableStart Date: August 2025Location: 1400 Upper Canada St, Ottawa ON, K2T 0R5Scheduled Shift: Monday - Friday, 04:30 PM - 07:30 PM, 15 hours weeklyPay-rate: $18.90 per hour (next salary increase after 3 months of service as per Collective Agreement)Vacancies: 5 positions availableThe PM Sorter sorts and separates freight by destination, weight, size, and shape to meet client delivery schedules.ResponsibilitiesUnload freight from curbside trucks onto the conveyor and from conveyor into curbside trucks
Unload freight off conveyor or chute for load-out
Load freight into linehaul / cube truck or trailer
Preload mail and packages into curbside delivery vehicles
Manually transfer bulk or non-conveyable items
Scan all shipped or received mail or packages to identify improperly sorted packaged mail or packages and mail marked for priority or weekend delivery.Skills and RequirementsMust be legally entitled to work in Canada without any restrictionsMust have access to a vehicle to get to and from the terminalMust be able to meet physical requirement of job, i.e. lift or carry approximately 70lbs.Must pass the RCMP Criminal Record CheckMust own CSA approved steel toe footwear (up to $200 reimbursed)Previous experience in a Distribution Center or Warehouse Environment considered an assetEducationHigh School Diploma (or equivalent), or working towards DiplomaExperiencePrevious experience in a Unionized environment considered an assetNo experience necessaryWorking at PurolatorBenefitsPurolator offers a comprehensive Benefits and Pension package as defined by the Collective Agreement.
