Waste Connections is looking for a Waste Reductions Specialist to join our team in Vancouver, Washington.Schedule is Monday-FridayShift is 8:00 AM-5:00 PMWage range is $27.00/HR DOESafety Sensitive: YesAs a Waste Reduction Specialist for Waste Connections, your skills will help serve the education and outreach marketing needs of greater Clark County. Areas of focus will include project management, event planning, public speaking, and close collaboration with colleagues and contract holders.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Familiarity with Clark County and regional recycling/composting practices.
  • Microsoft Office experience (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent self-motivation skills; strong work ethic.
  • Strong active listening and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Experience in business or professional outreach activities and/or public speaking.
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to area of assignment; and sufficient experience needed for the level of the position.
  • Proven ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and a good driving record.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work collaboratively and in conjunction with City and County business partners to ensure accuracy and timeliness of project completion.
  • Ensure contractual outreach obligations are met monthly.
  • Work cross functionally with other departments, job sites and partner agencies.
  • Provide written team monthly reports detailing work done in alignment with defined work plan.
  • Assist with tours of the Materials Recovery Center.
  • Required outreach events on the weekends.
  • Assist with other projects/tasks as business needs arise.
