- Ensure accurate weighing of log trucks as they arrive and as they leave.
- Ensure compliance with appropriate rules and regulations, ensuring drivers have appropriate licenses and certificates.
- Inspect incoming logs to ensure compliance with the government and LP log quality standards; coordinate with Forest Resources when standards are not met.
- Use and run the scaling software
- Participate in the log yard inventory
- Coordinate work with off-loaders and truck drivers to ensure accurate inventory records are maintained.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports.
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Knowledge of the LP green end log requirements.
- Knowledge of the LP environmental management system, forest management and wood fiber utilization.
- Knowledge of government regulations, logging utilization standards, log scaling regulations and grading rules.
- Strong math skills.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate a computer and supporting software.
- High school diploma required.
- Possession of appropriate Weighmaster licence/certificate required.
- Current, valid driver's license.
- Demonstrated experience in weigh scaling.
- Plant or outdoor environment.
