Our cutting-edge digital technology and dedicated team prioritize patient care and exceptional image quality.The Breast Imaging Division is a Mammography Accredited Centre with the Canadian Association of Radiologists (CAR) and also an Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) site.The Breast Imaging team supports imaging services across the hospital serving outpatients and inpatients. This includes: performing screening and diagnostic mammography (conventional and digital breast tomosynthesis), assisting in a variety of breast interventional procedures and performing breast ultrasounds.Be part of our journey to shape the future of medical imaging through innovation, ground breaking research, education, and excellence in patient care. - Perform high quality Breast Imaging procedures using digital equipment in a fast-pace and evolving environment
- Digital quality assurance that meets mammography accreditation's standard
- Preform screening and diagnostic mammography
- Complete breast interventional procedures
- Ensure respectful communication with patients and team members
- On-going commitment in continuing education that meets CAR and hospital requirements
- Work accurately, safely, and efficiently in a fast paced, high patient volume setting, especially how to accommodate unexpected situations
- Participate in teaching, as required
- CMRITO registration
- Certification by the CAMRT or OAMRS with current membership and PLI
- Previous Breast Imaging working experience with successful completion of Breast Imaging 1 and 2 certificates from CAMRT
- Completed over 15 hours of continuing education in Mammography within the past 3 years and commitment to on-going continuing education that meets the CAR and hospital requirements
- Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification, with maintenance of certification
- Demonstrated knowledge/experience in Digital Mammography and Digital equipment quality control, preferred
- Previous working experience at an OBSP Facility including experience in performing OBSP digital quality control, preferred
- Previous working experience at a CAR Mammography Accredited Facility and a CAR Mammography approved member, preferred
- Previous breast ultrasound experience with DMS registration, preferred
- Previous technologist experience in a hospital environment, an asset
- Effective time management skills and ability to organize and prioritize work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Demonstrated initiative and comfort with decision making including an ability to respond to changing and emergent situations
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated good judgement to ensure work is always performed in the best interest and safety of the patient and the team
