Your goal in this position is to participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team to promote workplace health, safety, and wellness for all persons who carry on work activities at North York General Hospital. You're a great relationship builder, and foster close contacts with peers across the entire organization. You have great interpersonal skills, and effortlessly connect with physicians and staff. Your primary responsibilities include: primary care, physically assess and manage a variety of health conditions, health & illness absence management, adverse event management, disease surveillance and immunization, respond to emergency situations as well as education and teaching. This position supports the Hospital's academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. This position contributes to the shared responsibility of ensuring health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for staff, physicians, volunteers, learners, patients and families.Great Registered Nurses are:

- Demonstrate your ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Diploma or certification in Occupational Health & Safety and/or COHN (C) designation or equivalent
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (BCLS)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Occupational Health experience in acute health care facility
- Knowledge of Occupational Health principles and applicable legislation (OHSA, WSIA, Human Rights, Privacy)
- Knowledge and application of current Communicable Disease Surveillance Protocols for Ontario Hospitals., preferred
- Experience with disability claims management, application of successful rehab principles, and management of transitional work programs, preferred
- Working experience with Occupational Health Computer System, (e.g., Parklane), preferred
- Experience in health promotion and wellness programs, preferred
- Bilingualism in French/English an asset
