We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Tech Lead - Data Platforms. This role can be based out of one our main offices including: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON; Calgary, AB.Here’s where you’ll be focusing:As a Tech Lead - Data Platforms with Sobeys, you will:
- Work in the Platform Administration team within the Enterprise Data Office.
- Perform all administration functions within the platform.
- Implement cost monitoring techniques and optimizations.
- Perform production deployments and establish process.
- Support all platform related issues.
- Implement product standards and methodologies.
- Implement and support automation for administering user access.
- Propose and implement query performance optimizations.
- Identify system bottlenecks and recommend solutions.
- Implement user and query log analysis and alerts.
- Implement data encryption/decryption/masking policies to protect sensitive data.
- Technical expertise in platform administration.
- Experience securing sensitive PII/PCI/PHI data.
- Knowledge of security administration (SAML, SCIM, etc).
- Experience with architecting and maintaining high availability production systems.
- Experience with developing monitoring architecture and implementing monitoring agents, dashboards, escalations, and alerts.
- Experience with DevOps concepts.
- Knowledge of security controls for the public cloud (encryption of data in motion/rest and key management).
- Demonstrated proficiency of index design, query plan optimization and analysis required.
- Hands-on experience in administration of relational Databases, Data Warehouse and Data marts.
- Drive for continuous learning around platform features and enhancements
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field.
- Minimum 4+ years of related experience in platform administration.
- Extensive hands-on experience with SQL.
