Our client is seeking an Intermediate Structural Engineer for their Vancouver office in a unique position that goes beyond traditional consulting work. This is an opportunity to work in a highly specialized and rewarding field that blends technical expertise, relationship building, and professional development.This role will appeal to engineers who enjoy working independently while engaging with a variety of industry stakeholders, including designers, contractors, and post-secondary institutions. The work involves contributing to national initiatives, providing expert technical support, and delivering training and educational programs.Key responsibilities
- Act as a trusted technical resource for contractors, designers, and construction professionals in BC
- Provide design support and assist with resolving structural engineering challenges
- Prepare and deliver seminars, workshops, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Collaborate with post-secondary institutions and industry partners on education and research
- Participate in national projects such as technical guides, codes, standards, and software development
- Represent the organization at meetings, events, and industry conferences
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Building Science, Materials, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in structural engineering; masonry design experience highly valued
- EIT registration in BC required; PEng preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including comfort with presentations and public speaking
- Ability to work independently while engaging with a broad range of stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and structural analysis software such as RAM Suite, SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD, S-Frame
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally and occasionally outside BC, including to the US
- Salary range: 85,000 to 105,000 dollars depending on experience
