Job Category: DriversJob Description:Clean Harbors is seeking a Class 1 Driver to join their safety conscious team in Delta, BC! This is a unionized position. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating Tractor Trailer units for the safe transportation of hazardous waste from client sites to the designated Clean Harbors facility.Route Schedule: Specifically handling waste pick up servicing our clients in the Lower Mainland & province wide. The individual will also handle routes out of province - such as transporting waste to our Ryley Alberta landfill, that may require 3 or more days on the road.Why work for Clean Harbors?

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Perform drum pick-ups from customer sites operating Tractor Trailers.
  • Ensure proper loading and unloading of hazardous waste/non-hazardous waste (i.e., drums are properly segregated and loaded, etc.).
  • Adhere to weights and ensure proper utilization of Company equipment.
  • Adheres to weights and ensures proper utilization of the units.
  • Responsible for maintaining daily logs, worksheets, timecard, expense reports, dispatch & trip reports and vehicle inspection reports.
  • Responsible for the proper placarding of vehicle to meet all requirements/regulations.
  • Maintain and clean assigned company equipment as well as ensure the equipment is mechanically sound and in good working order.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Class 1 driver's license required.
  • Must be comfortable with City, Regional/Provincial and long distance driving to Alberta.
  • 2+ years of previous operating experience of Tractor Trailers.
  • Ability to physically load and unload drums and other materials.
  • Forklift certified highly preferred.
  • Previous experience with manual transmission, 18 speed required.
  • Live within close commuting distance to our Delta facility to pick/drop off up the truck.
