
Senior Lead Instructional Designer

Location: Remote CanadaResponsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design of complex learning experiences, from needs assessment through to solution deployment.
- Conduct instructional analysis to identify performance gaps and design targeted interventions across digital, blended, and instructor-led formats.
- Work directly with clients and SMEs to clarify objectives, define scope, and shape content—resolving ambiguity and driving alignment.
- Synthesize information from multiple and diverse content sources (technical documents, interviews, existing training, etc.) into cohesive, learner-centric designs.
- Develop detailed design documents, storyboards, and prototypes for e-learning, simulations, performance support, and job aids.
- Ensure learning solutions align with adult learning principles, accessibility standards, and measurement strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including media developers, project managers, and stakeholders, to ensure quality and timeliness.
- Provide peer reviews and mentorship to other instructional designers and contractors, upholding best practices and brand consistency.
- 10+ years of experience in instructional design, with a strong focus on complex, enterprise-level learning solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise in needs analysis, stakeholder facilitation, and content synthesis across technical and non-technical subject areas.
- Exceptional communication and client engagement skills—able to guide conversations, influence outcomes, and build trust.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in learning design tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, or Vyond and the ability to quickly evaluate and upskill on new tools as required.
- Strong command of instructional theory (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Kirkpatrick Model).
- Experience working in or consulting for regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, government).
- Background in user experience (UX) or service design is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile or other iterative development methodologies.
