- Acting as Project Engineer, working as part of a team with a mix of senior and junior staff, and following applicable design guides and standards.
- Completing engineering designs and working with project teams to ensure that contract drawings are accurately prepared and checked
- Preparing written technical reports including but not limited to feasibility studies, concept design, detailed design, construction specifications, and design criteria reports.
- Performing construction administration/inspection.
- Overseeing project schedules, budgets and reporting requirements.
- Communicating effectively and clearly; both verbally and in writing with clients.
- Coordinating sub-consultants' activity on projects.
- Executing projects in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
- Engaging in a collaborative work environment with your team, as well as other disciplines and offices.
- An undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Registered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with APEGA.
- 5+ years of civil design experience in Alberta. Construction experience is an asset.
- Experience in transportation design, stormwater design, municipal infrastructure and/or land development is an asset.
- Proficiency in the use of Civil 3D & PCSWMM.
- Experience with spreadsheets and related computer software for civil design.
- Working knowledge of MS Office suite software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with both internal and external clients.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, technical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Committed team player and ability to work independently.
- Ability to travel within Alberta.
