Financial Close & Reporting
- Support and lead the financial close process to ensure accurate, complete, and timely reporting
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business drivers and financial impacts
- Perform detailed review and analysis of financial results
- Manage risks, accruals, and provisions
- Support internal and external reporting requirements
- Oversee month-end transactional processes, including preparation and review
- Maintain a strong control environment and support audit activities
- Contribute to special projects and transformation initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiencies
- Support implementation of changes to enhance effectiveness of financial operations
- Identify gaps in financial systems, reporting tools, and data flows, and work with stakeholders to resolve
- Leverage technology, including automation and AI, to streamline processes and improve outcomes
- Analyze and present financial data to support decision-making
- Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing and payments
- Manage invoice intake, validation, and processing workflows (PO and non-PO)
- Oversee vendor payment cycles and resolve discrepancies
- Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner
- Monitor and report on key AP metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Ensure AP activities align with monthly, quarterly, and annual close requirements
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of finance and AP professionals
- Foster a high-performance and collaborative team environment
- Manage team capacity and workforce planning to meet operational needs
- Drive engagement and continuous development across the team
- Support projects impacting finance operations, including system implementations and business integrations
- Contribute to broader transformation initiatives across finance
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- Professional designation (e.g., CPA) is an asset
- 6+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial reporting roles
- Strong proficiency in Excel and other MS Office tools
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP or similar) is an asset
- Exposure to data tools, automation, or AI technologies is considered an asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail with accuracy and efficiency
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across functions
- Proactive mindset with ownership over deliverables and issue resolution
- Interest in continuous learning, innovation, and emerging technologies
- Proven leadership ability with experience coaching and developing teams
