
IM/IT Project Manager

- Develop, manage and maintain project schedules in Microsoft format or in PPM;
- Develop and maintain action plans for issues, identify and track risk mitigation plans, make recommendations as necessary to advance project;
- Develop and maintain change management logs for each project;
- Manage and report on project metrics including earned value, baseline, forecast, milestones and actual dates, cost and scope;
- Prepare project status reports for Project Control Office review and approval
- Lead, build, champion and drive the change across the delivery organization
- Work side by side with business owners, architects, and system engineers fostering a collaborative and high performing working teams
- Create & maintain a project library on SharePoint and coordinate collection and filing of project documentation that satisfy the project management methodology; Prepare project status reports for Project Control Office review and approval
- Maintain contracts and contract changes, project change orders, work schedules and requirements changes as required to meet project objectives;
- Review vendor purchase requisitions, invoices, validate fees and recommend for approval;
- Ensure project resources deliver desired results within budget and schedule;
- Communicate priorities to staff, contractors and vendors to ensure conformance to the organizational objectives;
- Build team alignment amongst staff, contractors and vendor personnel with diverse backgrounds many of whom will be working together for the first time, during the duration of a project;
- Demonstrate business acumen by translating technical options into business objectives;
- Resolve or facilitate resolution of technical, business and personnel issues; escalate unresolved issues in a timely manner to supervisors.
- Additional project accountabilities as per Hydro One Project Governance Methodology.
- BA or BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
- At least 10 years of experience in Project Management and 5 years of experience in the utilities space
- Knowledge and ability to communicate effectively (verbal and in writing)
- Experience leading large and complex system implementation projects while managing multiple vendors, large budgets, and intricate technical deliveries
- Technical knowledge to be able to successfully deliver projects involving infrastructure, security, databases, storage, operating tools and networks (prior hands on experience is also an asset).
- Experience leading DMS (Distribution Management System) and infrastructure projects considered an asset
- Familiarity with GE and Schneider DMS is an asset
- Proven capability of agile methodologies such as Scrum and agile work practices
- Solid understanding of project management fundamentals (i.e., scope, time, budget, risk, quality, integration, resource management, etc.)
- Strong command of tools such as PowerPoint and Visio
- Communication of Project Management Processes to business and service providers
- Able to persuade, convince, and influence others building consensus F
- Self-starter and ability to take initiative - takes action and proactively do things
- Ability to acquire information relevant to the achievement of valued goals
- Ability to apply their technical knowledge and experience to facilitate management decisions for achieving business objectives
