Schedule: 5:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Duration: Approx. 3 weeks (1 week demolition, 2 weeks construction)
Employer: Staffmax StaffingAbout the RoleThis short-term contract involves demolition followed by construction tasks, with a focus on safety, precision, and efficiency. Candidates must be comfortable working in an active construction environment and available for early morning shifts.ResponsibilitiesDemolition Phase (1 week):Perform careful demolition of drywall and gypsum materials.Follow strict procedures for handling drywall with lead-based backing (delicate removal to keep gypsum intact).Assist with removal and disposal of materials according to safety standards.Construction Phase (2 weeks):Prepare and install dry pack concrete subfloor.Install and finish drywall, mudding, and taping.Assemble and install drop ceiling systems and tiles.Maintain a clean and safe work area throughout the project.RequirementsPrevious experience in demolition and/or construction required.Knowledge of drywall installation, mudding, taping, and ceiling systems.Ability to follow safety procedures, particularly when working around hazardous materials (lead awareness an asset).Physically fit and able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.Reliable transportation to job site (shift starts at 5:00 AM).Steel-toe boots, hard hat, and basic PPE required.Contract DetailsTerm: ~3 weeksHours: 5:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Monday-FridayCompensation: $25.00 - $28.00 + 4% vacation payStart Date: August 21
