- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- Level earth to fine grade specifications
- Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops
- Harvest crops
- Fertilize and spray crops
- Detect disease and health problems in crops
- Mixing and apply fertilizers
- Weeding
- Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
- Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market
- Clear and collect brush and debris from fields and other work areas
- Clear fields of wood and stones
- Organize tasks to accomplish the work
- Perform general farm duties, including but not limited to building maintenance, machine maintenance, and shop cleaning.
- Drive farm trucks including tandem axil
- May drive semi tractor trailer units
- A minimum of 12 months of experience is required. On-the-job training will be provided.
- Experience operating essential farm equipment—including a combine harvester, tractor, swather, and air seeder—is mandatory for this position due to the nature of the work.
- Driver’s license Class 5 is required
- Driver’s license Class 1A is an asset
