- Develop and implement QC plans and procedures aligned with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct inspections and audits of civil works, including earthworks, and structural components.
- Verify compliance with drawings, specification, standards, and contractual obligations.
- Manage documentation for quality records, test results, and non-conformance reports.
- Schedule and complete walkdowns, punch list development and close out, and turnover documentation.
- Coordinate with construction teams to resolve quality issues promptly.
- Liaise with field engineers and field supervision to ensure quality objectives are met.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide training on QC processes where needed.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by the Project Manager.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control field.
- Ability to read, interpret and apply Codes, Standards, Specifications and Drawings.
- Computer knowledge with Proficiency in MS Office ( Word, Excel & Outlook)
- Knowledge of earthworks testing methods and applications.
- Supervisory experience
- Knowledge of quality management system. CAN Z-299 / ISO 9002
- Thorough knowledge civil inspection.
- Well-developed administrative, planning and organizational skills, able to maintain traceability of complex documentation, computer skill.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize a number of tasks and complete a variety of work assignments within structured deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work with diverse personalities and background with tact and diplomacy.
- Service oriented with the ability to be assertive and persuasive
- Sound judgment with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Resourceful and maintains professional and technical skills.
- Participative management style and actively contributes to teams.
- Valid CSO
- Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness (including Bear Awareness)
- Be subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
- Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing:
- Breath Alcohol Test
- Urine Drug Test
- Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment
- Audiometric Testing
- Vision Screening
