As our Payroll Coordinator (1-year contract), you will be able to efficiently process a weekly payroll in SAP HCM and in Sage Timberline and meet all deadlines.Location:On-site in Cambridge, OntarioYour Day to Day as a Payroll Coordinator:
- Perform time balancing and the upload.
- Ensure compliance with Union Contracts (including payments, fringes, final payments).
- Adhere to strict compliance with SOX audit requirements.
- Prepare payroll journal entries for upload to SAP GEP as well as other journal entries and accruals as needed.
- Process payments for CRA remittance, EHT, Savings Plans and some Union payments as needed (weekly/monthly).
- Distribute regular weekly/monthly reports as well as ad-hoc reports.
- Prepare ROE using ROE on the Web.
- Resolve pay related issues.
- Administer garnishments (includes set-up, monitoring and remittance).
- Monitor and reconcile relevant payroll accounts in the general ledger.
- Balancing, preparation and filing of T4 and T4A's.
- Perform GL account reconciliations.
- Interact with internal personnel including Supervisors, Managers, site/field personnel, employees and Human Resources as well as with external bodies including HRSDC, Union Local, Credit Union and FRO.
- Solid knowledge of payroll processes and procedures acquired through a minimum of one-year hands-on experience.
- Completion of CPA's PCP designation.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll software, SAP HCM as well as, preferably Sage 300 Construction Payroll.
- Experience with hourly payroll.
- Experience processing payroll for a unionized workplace.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong knowledge of related provincial and federal government legislation.
- Sound knowledge of taxation issues related to payroll.
- Accounting experience is an asset.
