With bases in Montreal and Quebec City, Chrono continues its expansion, reinforcing its position as a leader in the charter flight industry in Quebec and Canada.Role and contextThe Assistant Chief Flight Dispatcher supports the Chief Flight Dispatcher in the daily oversight of operations conducted under Subpart 705, ensures flight dispatch, and maintains regulatory compliance as well as the safety and efficiency of operations. The incumbent also takes part in daily flight dispatch activities, staff training, and the continuous improvement of operational processes.Key responsibilities
  • Provide daily administrative, functional, and technical leadership to the flight dispatch and load planning department on behalf of the Chief Flight Dispatcher.
  • Provide operational support for flights, including flight planning, flight watch, weather briefings, and communications, in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
  • Carry out daily flight dispatch duties to ensure operational continuity and efficiency.
  • Ensure the operator’s flights are planned, released, and monitored safely and efficiently, in accordance with established standards.
  • Supervise and support flight dispatch staff in the performance of their daily duties and in the management of irregular situations.
  • Participate in the training, evaluation, and competency maintenance of flight dispatch staff, including familiarization periods.
  • Identify staff training needs and contribute to the development and implementation of training programs.
  • Manage and distribute staff schedules to maintain adequate operational coverage.
Ensure the upkeep, integrity, and performance of flight dispatch, flight planning, and performance systems, and liaise with suppliers.
  • Ensure operational continuity in the absence of the Chief Flight Dispatcher and perform any other related or delegated duties.

Specific job requirements
  • 5 years of experience in air operations or logistics
  • Good knowledge of the CARs and SOPs
  • Experience in operational coordination (aviation or logistics)
  • Comfortable working in a high-pressure environment
  • Proficiency with communication tools and planning systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time
  • Availability to work varied schedules
  • Fluency in French is required for this position. In addition, advanced English proficiency is also required in order to interact with English-speaking clients in Canada and elsewhere in the world.
