
Research Director – Industry (US Government)

- Conduct in-depth research on US government IT challenges including modernization of legacy systems, cybersecurity and resilience, digital identity, and accessibility.
- Track emerging trends such as smart cities, open data initiatives, cloud adoption, and AI in public services.
- Develop structured frameworks, methodologies, and tools tailored to the realities of public sector institutions.
- Shape and contribute to the research agenda to reflect the priorities of CIOs and IT leaders in US government.
- Lead one-on-one calls with US government leaders to provide research-backed guidance on strategic and operational issues.
- Translate published research into actionable recommendations that address complex governance, procurement, and service delivery environments.
- Identify gaps in research content and escalate opportunities for new development.
- Guide public sector clients through planning and decision-making on digital strategy, service modernization, and IT governance.
- Help participants translate frameworks into measurable, citizen-centered outcomes.
- Deliver clear, practical outputs that align with the regulatory, financial, and operational contexts of US government organizations.
- Collaborate with Advisory, Workshops, and Global Services teams to provide integrated support.
- Share expertise with Sales, Marketing, and Events teams to strengthen our presence in the US government sector.
- Represent Info-Tech at US government IT forums and deliver thought leadership presentations to senior public sector audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, Computer Science, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience considered.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or COBIT are assets.
- 5–10+ years of experience in IT leadership, consulting, or analysis in the US government sector, ideally with exposure to multiple levels (municipal, state, tribal nation, federal).
- Presentation and facilitation experience demonstrated through prior client-facing engagements important.
- History of gaining and maintaining trusted advisor status with management. Strong working relationships with C-suite considered beneficial.
- Demonstrated experience leading IT initiatives in areas such as:
- Legacy system modernization and digital transformation
- Public sector procurement and vendor management
