- Provide feedback to employees, address employee performance issues, liaise with departments on disciplinary matters
- Conduct performance appraisals
- Plan and administer work schedules for Crew Chiefs, AMEs and Apprentices that meet production requirements
- Support RCAF Flight Safety and KF Aerospace SMS (Safety Management Systems) programs
- Technical Skills
- Inspect and identify defects and advise/direct repairs
- Apply trouble shooting knowledge
- Ensure all maintenance is carried out in accordance with (IAW) Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS)
- Provide technical knowledge and support to engineers for Fixed Wing AMO
- Customer Service
- Assist Maintenance Manager and other supervisors to continuously improve the efficiency of the Fixed Wing AMO by capturing best practices.
- Assist Instructors and Students as required
- Documentation
- Apply KF Aerospace Defence Programs documentation requirements by:
- Responding to non-conformances issued to AMO and work with QA and PRM to rectify in a timely manner.
- Assessing and reviewing ADs, SBs and Technical Bulletins as required.
- Ensuring and overseeing correct and accurate documentation on technical logs, work pages, task cards, employee timesheets, etc.
- Maintaining up to date and accurate information in Maintenance Desk
- Fixed Wing AMO Planning and Control
- Develop work schedules including manpower requirements in conjunction with the Planning department
- Conduct daily team meetings
- Ensure all materials, work instructions, and drawings necessary to achieve goals and targets are available.
- Valid Transport Canada AME license M1 level
- Knowledge of aircraft systems with a minimum 5 years aviation experience.
- Must have KF Aerospace ACA (or be willing to obtain)
- Strong working knowledge of the types of aircraft supported by the AMOs.
- Strong understanding of CARs and of Transport Canada regulations, as applicable
- Prefer 2 - 5 years experience in leadership role
- Valid Manitoba Driver’s License
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Works and Government Services Enhanced Reliability Clearance (applicable to external applicants only)
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong customer orientation.
- Planning, organizing, multitasking skills and attention to detail are required.
- Able to work under pressure and manage project to timely completion
