- Execute the organizational unit's assurance obligations in line with the Zurich Canada Compliance Program.
- Plan, design, and execute internal assurance testing end to end, in alignment with Group standards, including risk analysis, control testing, and clear documentation of results.
- Monitor the resolution of assurance findings and support the implementation of action plans to address identified risks.
- Work with a multidisciplinary team on Group assessments, leveraging diverse skills and perspectives.
- Support the preparation of reporting materials for governance committees and business management.
- Act as a business partner, providing advisory insights on risk, governance, and compliance best practices.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders across the organization.
- Champion improvements to the regulatory compliance framework by embracing new technologies and data analytics.
- Participate in ad hoc compliance projects, offering support and expertise as needed.
- Bachelors Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims, Marketing, Underwriting or Compliance area
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims, Marketing, Underwriting or Compliance area
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims, Marketing, Underwriting or Compliance area
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Project Management experience
- Knowledge of underwriting and/or claims processes
- Experience working in a legal regulatory environment
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Professional designation or certification in compliance, audit, legal, accounting, or risk management strongly preferred (e.g., Osgoode Certificate, CRM, CPA, LLB, CIA); candidates working towards these will also be considered.
- Minimum two years' experience in consulting, compliance, audit, or risk management; or four years' experience in claims or underwriting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical topics for business stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Proactive, analytical, and results-driven, with a commitment to continuous learning.
- Effective multitasker able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Eager to develop digital skills and adapt to technological change.
- Knowledge of data privacy, records management, sanctions, and control testing.
- Familiarity with insurance and financial services, especially compliance operations; commercial insurance or underwriting experience is an asset.
- Understanding of local legal and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and within a matrixed organization.At Zurich Canada, we are committed to pay equity. We determine compensation based on objective criteria such as skills, experience, and internal equity. The salary range for this position is $68,000-$108,000. This range reflects the expected pay for the role across Canada and may vary depending on factors such as office location, specific responsibilities, and individual qualifications. As required by local law, Zurich provides in good faith a reasonable compensation range; however, starting salaries may exceed this range based on a candidate's skills and experience.Our Culture
