
AI&T Manager - EGSE

- Reviews requests from programs, product development management, line management, applies and organizes the required resources to manage the EGSE and test stations development required for the AI&T portion of a program/product in its entirety. This may require negotiation with line managers or other programs for conflicting resource requirements, which should always be done with the Company overall interests in mind.
- Negotiates, discusses and reaches agreement with the customer (internal or external) with respect to the key requirements and objectives of the program/product, as well as the funding, resources and methods required. In many cases these will be in conflict, and the EGSE AI&T Manager must maintain a diplomatic and persuasive approach to maintain a balance between what can be achieved for the budget and schedule provided, while maintaining the interests of the Company.
- Prepares detailed schedules to track the program progress on a day-to-day basis, holds frequent and regular assessments of costs to date and estimates to complete and develops work-around plans as required to achieve cost and schedule objectives.
- Collaborates with EGSE department line manager and EGSE development leads for resource requirements and tracking of work execution.
- Identifies and manages AI&T risks and opportunities related to product/program.
- Maintains hands-on control of the AI&T through a process of regular program reviews, design reviews and audits, workarounds plan meeting, staff meetings, program meetings and the like. Provides technical and administrative guidance, direction and decision-making to the AI&T team.
- Maintains AI&T visibility at the customer level through regular technical, management, and progress meetings.
- Maintains visibility of the program to senior management through monthly program reviews and briefings as needed on subjects of importance to the Company.
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar degree, Bachelors or higher
- 7 years’ experience of program / project management or project engineering in related technical field
- 7 years’ experience of Assembly, integration and/or test
- Experience with negotiations, risk management, contract management, subcontract management, financials, US ITAR regulations.
- Good people skills and leadership skills.
- Communication skills in both French and English required (Contact with customers outside Quebec and head office managers in Ontario).
