- Drill logging to include the collection of drill core recovery, structural measurements, alteration and mineralization observations and host rock descriptions to conform with Company procedures and best practise industry standards.
- Assist in the collection, sampling, and shipping of samples for assay as per Company procedures as required and directed.
- Entry of and collection of data into Company databases as per procedures.
- Plotting of interpretive geological cross-sections, long sections and level plans of drill data and results as required.
- Selection of sample intervals and supervision of the representative sampling of the drill core selected to conform with the Company procedures and best practice industry standards under the supervision of a Project Geologist.
- Assist in the input of data and interpretation to enable geological modelling of the Corporation’s exploration projects in GEMS or other related software as required.
- Ability to supervise and manage drill rigs and their crews to ensure that drill core is correctly drilled and recovered.
- Assist in the production of reports on the interpretation of the geology and mineralization as logged and be able to comment and provide recommendations on the viability of drill targets.
- Ability to operate data logging software, as well as other exploration related software to ensure data is collected to best industry standards in maintaining the integrity and validity of data under the supervision of a Project Geologist. The Corporation currently uses Leapfrog, MX Deposit, A-Mine and Target software.
- Assist in the generation of drill programs to test geological models and warranted targets.
- Progress reporting on a weekly basis.
- Ability to work with other technical members of the exploration team to achieve the Company objectives.
- Provide other geological services for the Corporation’s exploration program as may be required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Degree in Geology; registered or with the ability to register with the Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (or equivalent).
- 3 years of Exploration/Mining experience in narrow vein gold.
- Knowledge of narrow vein gold systems in Archean terranes.
- Knowledge with GeoticLog Leapfrog MapInfo, Autocad, or Deswick would be an asset.
- Exposure to drilling, core logging, and underground settings.
- Basic First Aid would be an asset.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, listening and time management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must possess a valid Class G Ontario Driver's License.
- Must be willing to relocate to Timmins.
