- Visually inspects the less complex type mechanical and electrical assemblies for proper method of assembly, components types, fastening, mechanical and electrical connections, soldering workmanship, foreign material, finish and appearance, marking and other characteristics that could affect the quality and/or reliability of the product;
- Checks first off on the less complex type or subassembly for mechanical dimensions, types of components, method of assembly, key cards, etc. to ensure that it will meet drawings and wiring diagrams specifications;
- Occasionally assists in-process monitoring of material handling, shipping, invoicing, wave soldering, encapsulation, conformal coating, etc.;
- Inspects material identifying paperwork for accuracy and proper handling as per procedure;
- Occasionally assists in carrying out investigations to solve problems encountered in the course of inspection;
- Writes concise and unambiguous reports;
- May apply statistical control methods from established procedures;
- Works from the less complex drawings, diagrams, verbal or written instructions or procedures, samples, catalogues, industrial or MIL Standards, specifications, etc.;
- Performs other normal related tasks as assigned.
- Professional diploma in a field relevant to the position;
- Six (6) months of related experience in inspection including some military inspection work;
- Broad inspection knowledge in the manufacturing and assembly of complex electronics apparatus;
- Ability to use a variety of measuring instruments and military standard;
- Broad knowledge of mechanical and elementary knowledge of electronics.
