Schedule: Monday to Friday, shifts between 11:30 PM and 5:00 AM

A Day in the Life of a Ryder DriverIf you’re seeking a career where collaboration, innovation, and dedication are valued, Ryder is the company for you.About the PositionClass 1 DriverThe Class 1 Driver is responsible for hauling daily freight from the Edmonton distribution center to the Fort McMurray Oilsands customer.Essential Functions

Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, provincial, and company regulations, standards, and guidelines
Identify and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
Maintain accurate records and driver logs
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading/unloading as required by the customer

Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions, required
Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, required
Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-up practices
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Demonstrated commitment to health and safety practices
Reliable, punctual, and dependable

Qualifications

H.S. Diploma or GED, preferred
Minimum of 9 months of verifiable commercial driving experience, required
Must not have more than one moving violation or accident (excluding parking) in the last 12 months, required
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brake endorsement, required

Additional Skills & Expectations

Valid Class 1 Driver’s License
Experience driving manual transmission trucks
Flatbed experience is considered an asset
