Vacancy Type: Existing PositionAs our next Assistant Manager, Automation, you will support and coordinate engineering and tooling activities while contributing to automation, process development, and new program execution. - Coordinating Engineering and Tooling functions to support plant objectives
- Supporting design analysis, concept development, and new program launches
- Developing powdered metal production processes and tracking product metrics against business plans
- Maintaining product cost summaries and supporting cost‑reduction initiatives
- Creating and maintaining capacity plans, machine loading plans, and resource utilization models
- Analyzing workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and equipment layouts to maximize efficiency
- Supporting equipment, tooling, and process specification reviews with vendors and suppliers
- Collaborating with management, engineering, and production teams on manufacturing capabilities, schedules, and capacity analysis
- Applying statistical and analytical tools to forecast manufacturing requirements
- Working with tooling and engineering groups to improve products, tooling, and automation efficiency
- Analyzing production challenges and facilitating engineering or operational solutions
- Supporting development and review of new applications and product concepts
- Using analytical tools (e.g., FEA) to validate design concepts and assumptions
- Promoting best practices and continuous improvement initiatives within engineering
- Supporting employee training, development, and retention initiatives
- Championing APQP activities for new product launches at the plant level
- Ensuring compliance with all Quality, Environmental, and Safety Management Systems
- Performing additional duties as assigned by management
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Strong background in manufacturing, CNC machining, product development, project management, and customer design reviews
- Solid knowledge of process flow development, capacity planning, and resource utilization
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an automotive parts manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership, team‑building, and problem‑solving skills
- Proven ability to develop and track efficiency and utilization targets against business plans
- Powder Metallurgy Technologist (PMT) Certification Level 1 or 2 (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience supporting automation or advanced manufacturing systems
- Exposure to APQP, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies
