
Payroll Specialist

- Manage full-cycle payroll for salaried and hourly employees using ADP Workforce Now.
- Audit, balance, and reconcile payroll to ensure accuracy prior to transmission.
- Handle statutory remittances, deductions, terminations, vacation pay, and other payroll transactions in compliance with federal and Alberta requirements.
- Act as the first point of contact for payroll inquiries, providing timely and professional support.
- Generate payroll reports, dashboards, and workforce trend analyses for HR, Finance, and leadership teams.
- Leverage advanced Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, formulas, macros) to analyze payroll and workforce data.
- Support audits by preparing accurate and timely payroll documentation.
- Partner with HR, Finance, and IT to streamline processes, enhance system functionality, and implement improvements.
- Stay up to date with legislative changes and payroll best practices.
- 3-5+ years of Canadian payroll experience, supporting 1,000+ employees.
- In-depth knowledge and experience working with Alberta payroll legislation and CRA requirements.
- Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and time-tracking tools.
- Advanced Excel expertise for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with SharePoint and dashboard/reporting tools.
- PCP certification from the National Payroll Institute (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
