- Developing recruitment strategies and creating opportunity for employee engagement to ensure retention
- Creating and implementing internal policies and procedures
- Managing employment records, including professional development, performance reviews, grievances and discipline records
- Overseeing employee onboarding, training, performance reviews and termination processes
- Facilitating company and employee benefits, including WCB claims as required
- Ensuring employees are aware of all health and safety policies and procedures
- Manage company compliance regarding environmental regulations
- Strong skills in using Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong critical thinking skills and creative problem-solving ability
- Ability to follow a policy/procedure from development to execution
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to have crucial conversations with employees and members of senior management
- Post Secondary Education in Human Resources
- Experience in managing environmental compliance program
- Experience over-seeing multi-faceted teams
