Reporting to the Director, After School Program, this role is responsible for assisting with overall routines, supervision, planning and implementation of activities for children between 4-12 years of age.The After School Program Supervisor will oversee the After School Program Assistants in their activities and oversight of children, and will support the planning of field trips and programming.The hours for this position will generally be Monday- Friday 2:30 - 6:00/30 p.m. during the academic year. This will include After School Program supervisory responsibilities and supervision in the Junior School.Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:Collaborate with the Director, After School Program, to develop and implement engaging activities, crafts, and special events, including field trips, that cater to our students' interestsLead and mentor After-School Program Assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth program operations and effective student supervisionDirectly supervise students during all activities, including homework time and outdoor playEnsure their safe arrival and dismissal, and escort them to and from extra-curricular activities or parent pickupPrepare and serve healthy snacks that meet dietary needs and restrictionsEnsure the program space is cleaned daily and that the facility is securely closed at the end of each dayBe the main point of contact for parents, handling all inquiries and sharing important program information while managing calls, emails, and the school entry systemTrack staff hours, manage inventory, and record student attendanceCandidate Profile:3+ years or experience working with groups of childrenExperience leading children in a camp, educational, or recreational setting is a strong assetEarly Childhood Education related education or certification is preferredOntario College of Teachers certification or equivalent degree with Primary/ Junior qualifications is an assetA proven ability to have a caring rapport with studentsStandard First Air & CPR certifications are requiredWork independently with little direct supervisionA positive attitude and ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanourAlignment with Branksome Hall’s mission, vision and valuesWhy Join Branksome Hall:Joining Branksome Hall will change your life.
