- Understand the value of efficient and accurate system monitoring and alerting, event management, and configuration management.
- Scripting and Automation: Be proficient with automation utilizing various tools such as PowerShell, Ansible, and ServiceNOW orchestration. You are confident writing, updating, and reviewing various scripts.
- Automating Windows OS deployment and package management, security, and updates.
- You have a varied experience managing storage, servers, infrastructure applications, data centers, security appliances and tools, and systems management tools. You don't feel right until even the lowest levels of hardware are monitored, remotely manageable, and the team gets alerted promptly and can respond effectively to any failure.
- Four-year college degree in IT, computer science, or related technical field.
- Minimum of four years systems administration or systems engineering experience. In depth understanding of Systems Administration methodology and principles.
- Knowledge and experience administering a broad range of systems.
- Knowledge and experience with networking for context.
- Must be a self-motivator and professional communicator.
- Knowledge in administering Active Directory (AD) and related AD Services.
- Develops, documents, and enforces the standards, security procedures, and controls for access to ensure integrity of the Windows Systems, Active Directory, and related systems.
- Knowledge of server virtualization technologies, preferably VMware and/or KVM technologies
- A working knowledge of modern scripting languages and methods or programming experience.
- Experience automating deployment and configuration of scale out systems on virtual platforms, cloud, or equivalent.
- Experience working for a managed service provider.
- Knowledge of High Availability technologies, approaches, and operations.
- Experience with a variety of application delivery controllers, monitoring tools, security tools, and infrastructure.
