This term position will commence August 2025, and end April 2026.Job Summary:As directed by the Culinary Instructor and Cafeteria Coordinator the duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to, the cooking and preparation of the cafeteria/catering menu, cafeteria sales, float/cash out duties, dishwashing, and general cleaning of the cafeteria kitchen and seating areas. The successful candidate will work to maintain a positive environment, be punctual and prepared to work with customers in a professional manner.Requirements/Qualifications:
  • High school diploma.
  • Valid Food Safe Certificate.
  • A minimum of one years' relevant cooking experience.
  • A minimum of one years' experience in food production.
  • A basic understanding of sales experience including cash handling, Interact, credit card payments and cash-outs. Training will be provided for the successful candidate.
  • Proven ability to communicate courteously and effectively in person, in writing and over the telephone.
  • Proven ability to provide a positive customer service experience when under pressure, to work with minimal supervision, and to be organized and flexible; and
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to work with Indigenous people and an understanding of Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing.
