- Respond to multi-channel inquiries from managers and employees related to employee relations policies and procedures ensuring that inquiries and issues are escalated to the appropriate stakeholder.
- Provide consultative services to identify root causes of employee relations issues, create solutions for improvement, and facilitate implementation of action plans.
- Participate/lead in People Team projects and initiatives.
- Deliver company orientation to new hires.
- Participate and/or lead in the investigation and resolution of employee complaints, issues, and concerns regarding employment practices.
- Provide accurate and comprehensive responses to contacts received based on a strong working knowledge of company employee relations policies and procedures as well as related government legislation and regulations supported by the ability to rapidly access supporting documents.
- Coordinate and conduct Exit Interviews and Stay Interviews and escalate concerns to the appropriate stakeholder; collect response data, analyze results and review with People Team Manager for furtherance to the business.
- Assist in the administration of employee relations policies and procedures and monitor their application and enforcement to ensure fairness and consistency.
- Assist in supporting and monitoring the application of disciplinary policies and procedures to ensure fairness and consistency.
- College or university degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
- Minimum 3 years' of HR experience required.
- Minimum 2 years in a service role and/or demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service.
- Demonstrated generalist knowledge of HR best practices.
- Possesses knowledge of employment legislation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal and leadership skills and the ability to establish high trust relationships.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
- A demonstrated ability to manage conflict and diffuse difficult situations.
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask including simultaneously conducting and documenting a conversation.
- Able to manage fluctuating workload and time pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
