The Care Group (“TCG”) offers high-quality residential care services to complex care clients in 9 homes throughout the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. We believe our residents deserve excellence in care, and we strive to achieve this by working as a team toward our common goal – a happy and healthy resident.THE OPPORTUNITYWe are looking for a Custodian to join our The Gardens team in Qualicum Beach, B.C.Shifts: 20-30 hours per week. Flexible availability, sometimes on-call (emergency) so preferably to live close by.QUALIFICATIONS * Previous experience in custodian/janitorial or housekeeping roles (preferably in a healthcare or residential setting).
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • COVID-19 vaccination.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to maintain a checklist record Custodial routines
  • Strong communication skills when interacting with residents, staff, and visitor
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, move furniture, pick up deliveries from hardware stores
  • Must be physically fit, adaptable, and is an effective team member
DUTIES
  • Empty garbage and recycling bins and ensure proper waste disposal
  • Restock cleaning supplies and report inventory needs
  • Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to appropriate personnel
  • Assist with basic facility upkeep and ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
  • Follow infection control procedures and safety protocols at all times
