If you’re a leader at heart and are experienced in the Finishing End, associated lumber yards, shipping activities and manufacturing, we want to hear from you!We are looking for a Finishing End Superintendent to join our Lavington Planer Mill Division located in Lavington, British Columbia. Our Lavington Division is where Tolko’s story began over 60 years ago. Today, at Lavington, we safely and sustainably produce 238 million board feet of lumber per year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Post secondary education in forestry, business, engineering or related field will be considered an asset
  • Technical knowledge of sawmill equipment and log and lumber scanning systems
  • Superior computer application skills
  • Proven track record of sustained improvements in maintenance reliability.
  • Strong planning, goal setting and project management skills.
  • Proven team leader with strong people skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing change.
  • Knowledge of the development and implementation of effective safety programs.
  • Wood products manufacturing experience preferred.
