At Arts & Science, we take pride in our legacy of innovation and discovery that has changed the way we think about the world.Your opportunity:Under the general direction of the Chair, the Graduate Program Assistant will provide support on program administration and coordinating program logistics for the Graduate Programs at the Department of ClassicsYour responsibilities will include:
- Scheduling appointments for prospective students, applicants and current students to address individual needs
- Checking documentation and applications for completeness
- Coordinating the recruitment of teaching assistants, course instructors, sessional lecturers and/or stipend instructors
- Preparing draft employment letters using templates
- Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
- Generating reports; collating and organizing data for various reports
- Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum two (2) years' relevant experience in a post-secondary environment providing detailed academic and other information to graduate students and faculty
- Experience updating, maintaining records and ensuring accuracy, including student records and marks
- Experience drafting letters using templates with strong attention to details
- Experience maintaining information on graduate program website and digital platforms
- Experience coordinating activities for events and/or programs
- Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer service and sensitivity to the needs of students, academics, and staff
- Demonstrated advanced computer skills, including SharePoint, MS Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), databases, content management system or other website management system, and group scheduling software
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational and time-management skills
- A strong student service orientation, and effective interpersonal skills to deal with students, staff, and faculty with professionalism and tact

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 08 -- $63,963. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $81,797. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
