The Graduate Teaching Assistant will support the course coordination and administration of the , a part-time, 100% online program designed for health professionals to learn foundations in data analytics in a health context. The program consists of 3 courses, each 5 weeks in duration. Each course is offered three times through the calendar year. We anticipate each course cohort to be up to 25 students.The courses are:1. Introduction to the Big Data Era & Opportunities for Better Health Care (Jan 12 to Feb 15, 2027)2. Health Data and Visualization (Mar 2 to Apr 5, 2027)3. Health Data Analysis and Machine Learning (Apr 13 to May 17, 2027)A Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) is needed for each course.It is possible to be a GTA for one course and one offering (~10 weeks employment), however priority will be given to applicants who can commit to more than one course or offering.Key Responsibilities:Work with the Course Instructor to ensure course content is up to date on Canvas (e.g. updating announcement dates, assignment due dates, Zoom office hours)Respond to student’s questions in weekly discussions on CanvasMark submitted assignments according to provided rubrics with Gradebook and assign student final gradesAttend weekly office hours as needed (1 hour/week)Fix and /or document any mistakes or issues identified with course content for future iterationsQualifications:Enrolled in a graduate program related to data science, or health sciences/medicine disciplinesAdvanced knowledge of data science, statistics and machine learningEducation or work experience in health sciences, health data analyticsExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaborativelyFamiliarity with CanvasHourly rate:
