- Oversee the accounting team.
- Direct and coordinate financial reporting function.
- Perform the monthly financial close process.
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget and prior year.
- Perform daily operations of the accounting department.
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable team members.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts as well as ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
- Implement department goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
- Assist the corporate accounting team with audits, as required, and provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Coordinate, control, reconcile, and report physical inventory results.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in finance, accounting or economics is a plus.
- 5+ years of relevant experience, management experience a strong asset.
- Public Accounting experience preferred.
- CPA license a plus (active status not a concern).
- Experience in ERP reporting systems (Epicor is a plus).
- Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal financial regulations.
- Knowledge of general ledger accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, and internal control principles in a manufacturing environment, including a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare/present financial reports, statements, and projections.
- Experience motivating people to produce quality results within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage multiple projects.
- Strong professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed.
