Scope and Summary of Primary ResponsibilitiesThis funded position through the Canada Summer Jobs Program offers the opportunity to gain meaningful experience and learn practical skills associated with working in an organization that provides professional vision rehabilitation services.VLRC is seeking a motivated Marketing Coordinator to support the local team in Windsor, ON, with planning, implementation, and evaluation of promotion of services and programs to external partners.In this role, you will develop practical skills in community outreach, market research, digital and accessible communications, and content creation. The Marketing Coordinator will help strengthen VLRC’s presence across Windsor by supporting the development of outreach and communication strategies, conducting research on health and community organizations, and updating digital contact and referral databases. The position also provides exposure to assistive and accessible technology and offers opportunities to learn how AI-enabled tools support individuals with vision loss.To be eligible for the funding associated with this position, you must be:
Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment

II. Essential FunctionsThe position entails, but is not limited to the following general responsibilities:
As directed by management, work with the team to launch an Outreach Strategy and Communication Plan to promote VLRC to relevant organizations in Windsor to increase community knowledge and capacity.
Establish a communication strategy with referring doctors to VLRC through direct written contact and social media options.
Update doctor contact spreadsheet.
Conduct research and data collection to identify local external health and community-based organizations serving a wide range of marginalized and underserved populations who may be experiencing vision loss.
Identify relevant external organizations who provide support to individuals with complex needs including individuals living with diabetes and other health conditions that may impact vision.
Update digital database of organizations supporting underserved populations and contacts, with a strong focus on data accuracy and quality, in order to share information about our services and our community referral form.
Create and deliver accessible virtual workshops to promote the benefits of VLRC programs and services to enhance understanding of resources available for vision rehabilitation.
Develop, format, and edit marketing and digital communication materials.
Conduct market, social media, and community engagement research to identify opportunities to enhance VLRC presence and outreach effectiveness.
Complete evaluation at the end of placement to provide feedback on experience and provide a detailed report on activities/projects completed.
Other related duties as required.

Be enrolled in degree or diploma studies in related field.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.

Professional, articulate, confident presenter.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Previous experience with vision loss considered an asset.
