The range does not include additional compensation such as bonuses, equity, benefits, or other incentives.Job Summary:Altus Group is looking for an Associate Director to join our Toronto office's Development Advisory Team. Reporting to the Senior Director, you will work with the management team on various asset types and accounts. Your role involves providing guidance to a team of consultants to deliver cost consulting services efficiently. This includes client delivery, revenue management, business development, offering technical expertise, and leading the consultant team.Key Responsibilities:Provide a full range of cost consulting services to new and existing clients. This involves a full technical understanding of construction estimation, cost planning and change order review:Read, understand, and interpret construction drawings and specifications at an advanced levelReview and provide guidance on measurement for junior members of the teamCompletion of project descriptions & assumptionsPractical understanding of construction methodology and technologyExtensive trade/product knowledgeAbility to prepare and complete both divisional (trade)/ CIQS elemental take-offs based on all levels of design documents from Class D to Class AFundamental understanding of Mechanical & Electrical systemsAdvanced understanding of factors influencing construction costs and applying that knowledge in the production of estimates or change order review.Completion of estimates and reportsPreparation/analysis of detailed general condition breakdowns, including an understanding of the logistics and high-level schedule duration calculationsChange order analysis – full cycle from interpretation, take-off, pricing and negotiation with tradesReconciliation of estimate with tenders, owner’s budgets and/or contractor’s estimatesAbility to prepare, co-ordinate & deliver estimates (on schedule & within fees)Ability to maximize the use of appropriate software and technology and teach others how to do the same such as CostX, Revit, CAD, and Microsoft Office.Develop and build long-term client relationships which result in repeat business, referrals and service expansion including up-sells & cross-sells across other Business Units within Altus.Lead the assessment of client requirements, conduct project reviews and deal with issues efficiently and effectively.Preparation of proposals including fee calculations for approval (where required)Work with Management to support the implementation of strategies which contribute to revenue generation, profitability and growth of the Business Unit – locally and nationally.Lead the implementation of approved business plans and act as Champion for these initiatives within the team.Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, mentoring and support to direct reports and members of the Ontario Cost Planning team.Key Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Science or in a related field7- 10 years of leadership experience in a commercial real estate or related field, with a multi-dimensional understanding of the real estate consulting and advisory industry.Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) or Member RICS (MRICS) is required, LEED accreditation is an assetSelf-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and work ethicsProven strategic thinking, analytical skills, and strong business acumen, with a focus on business development.Client service oriented.Full and deep understanding of Cost Planning servicesProactive exploration of opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of business processes#LI-HybridUnlock your Altus Experience!If you’re looking to advance your career in in an industry that is transitioning for greatness, there’s no better place than Altus Group.Our high trust, high performance culture prioritizes progressive programs that empower you to deliver your greatest performance while promoting collective success where everyone is recognized and connected.We offer boundless opportunities in a rapidly growing global business: mentorship from the best and brightest in CRE, access to our Altus Intelligence Academy, and the chance to work with the best data sets, tools and technology in the industry.What Altus Group offers:Rewarding performance: competitive compensation, incentive and bonus plans, and a total rewards package prioritizing mental, physical, and financial well-being.Growth and development: we invest in your professional learning.
