Quality Inspector / Technician (Substations)

- Execute quality assurance and quality control activities on the project site
- Follow, and ensure compliance with, Valard's Quality Manual, project specific Quality Plan, and Inspection and Test Plans
- Ensure Valard meets the requirements of the applicable Contract, Client Standards, Provincial and Federal Regulations, and Code(s) of Construction
- Liaise with cross-functional groups within Valard, as well as the designated client and sub-contractor quality personnel on quality matters for the project
- Review of all full and partial assemblies/installations for completeness and conformance to IFC drawings and applicable specifications
- Flag all deficiencies and monitor remedial actions
- Ensure damaged or material issues are identified and tracked
- Work with the materials coordinator (as applicable) to ensure nonconforming materials are repaired or replaced in accordance with IFC drawings
- Maintain and manage the Master Punch List
- Assemble the progressive turnover packages
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in quality assurance and quality control activities (including ITP's)
- 3 years experience with civil, structural, and electrical construction activities
- Knowledge of construction project processes such as RFIs, Change Management, Field Instructions, NCRs, Walk-Down, Commissioning, Turnover, “As-Built” drawing
- Background in reading and interpreting technical documents such as codes, standards, specifications, construction drawing
- Proficiency in MS Office (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) as well as Adobe Acrobat
- Red Seal Electrician certification
- Experience with BlueBeam Revu
- Power systems experience (Distribution, Substation, and/or Transmission)
- Concrete, piling and earthworks experience
