In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to the following key responsibilities:Responsibilities:
  • Build strong, respectful and lasting relationships with Indigenous communities across Saskatchewan, enhancing Worley’s corporate reputation and ability to deliver impactful Indigenous Capacity Development services, in alignment with Worley’s Indigenous Engagement Policy.
  • Build trusted relationships with leadership and representatives of First Nation, Métis, and other Indigenous groups, as well as municipalities and local community organizations, to ensure inclusive and meaningful engagement.
  • Act as a key liaison between local Indigenous communities and project stakeholders, supporting the implementation of project strategies that ensure mutual benefits during both the development and long-term operation of our clients’ investments.
  • Collaborate with post-secondary institutions, training partners and community-based organizations to advance Indigenous capacity building programs and assist in recruiting local and Indigenous talent for project related roles.
  • Establish and/or maintain productive relationships with educational institutions, training providers and local government bodies.
  • Demonstrate superior interpersonal, verbal communication, facilitation and presentation skills to effectively engage and align internal stakeholders with Indigenous engagement goals.
  • Ability to guide and support supervisory teams in navigating cultural differences and engaging respectfully with Indigenous peoples, including facilitating and participating in meaningful and sometimes challenging conversations.
  • Apply subject matter expertise to operationalize Indigenous Capacity Development within Worley’s business framework, including planning, process management, performance tracking, and reporting systems.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of Indigenous Engagement project plans, providing regular updates and insights to the Indigenous Community Relations Lead to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  • Maintain efficient workflows and proactive communications to support the diverse initiatives of the Indigenous Engagement Team, effectively managing multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
  • Consistently meet project deadlines and commitments.
  • Provide strategic analysis and recommendations on Indigenous engagement strategies, opportunities, and emerging issues relevant to Worley and the Indigenous communities impacted by our operations.
  • Advise on socioeconomic development initiatives that support direct and indirect benefits, including social investment, Indigenous employment, workforce training and supplier/subcontractor inclusion.
QualificationsTechnical and Industry Experience:Minimum 5 years of progressive, hands-on experience in Indigenous engagement with a demonstrated focus on workforce development - including labour capacity assessments, planning, and the deployment of Indigenous skilled labour and apprentices within project-based environments.Proven experience supporting Indigenous workforce inclusion through training, mentorship, and employment strategies aligned with project needs and Indigenous community capacity.Strong familiarity with Government of Canada and provincial consultation and accommodation frameworks, with practical experience in applying these guidelines within the context of project execution.In-depth knowledge of provincial and territorial policy frameworks related to Indigenous engagement, particularly in Saskatchewan.Direct experience working on brownfield and greenfield projects in the resource extraction sector (e.g. heavy oil, mining) in roles related to human resources, procurement, or skilled construction and maintenance trades will be considered a strong asset.Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive, respectful relationships with Indigenous Nations, communities, and leadership, with a deep understanding of diverse cultural protocols, governance structures, and socioeconomic priorities.Working knowledge of Indigenous cultural issues and regional demographics, including the unique histories, priorities, and rights of Indigenous groups, across Western Canada.Strong working knowledge of Indigenous cultural protocols, community dynamics, and historical context is essential, along with the ability to interpret and apply relevant federal and provincial legislation related to Indigenous rights, consultation and inclusion.Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g. Indigenous Studies, Social Sciences, Communications, Human Resources, Environmental Resource Management, or Business) would be considered an asset.A combination of relevant education and equivalent work experience in Indigenous engagement may be considered.Preference will be given to Indigenous applicants or applicants with lived experience in Indigenous communities.Strong organizational, interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills are essential, particularly in working collaboratively with Indigenous communities and leadership.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to remote or project-based locations; valid driver's license is required.Stay in camp based or hotel accommodations away from home base when required.Demonstrated commitment to upholding and promoting a respectful, inclusive workplace through personal leadership and accountability.Moving forward togetherWe’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace where everyone feels they belong, can bring themselves, and are heard.
