We provide full-service engineering support to deliver customized solutions that meet our clients' specific project requirements.Role OverviewThe Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing shipping and receiving operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, and coordinating timely, cost-effective transportation of finished goods. This role leads the Shipping/Receiving team while maintaining operational standards, accuracy, and alignment with plant KPIs and safety requirements.Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Shipping/Receiving staff, including hiring, scheduling, performance management, and corrective actions
- Plan and execute daily shipping activities to meet operational KPIs and deadlines
- Oversee inventory accuracy, including daily transaction reviews, cycle counts, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with Enterprise Shipping Manual standards and procedures
- Coordinate shipping schedules, load configurations, and transportation details with Sales and Customer Service
- Manage yard operations and inventory movement, including off-site storage
- Maintain accurate inventory through timely processing of RGAs, PPRs, and cycle counts
- Oversee procurement of shipping-related consumables, including vendor selection and cost management
- Lead annual physical inventory audits
- Support and promote LEAN and 5S initiatives within the department
- Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety policies and actively promote a safe work environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Manager or Corporate Logistics Manager
- 5+ years of shipping experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of experience coordinating with carriers, logistics providers, and customers
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability with a solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel required); ERP experience preferred
- Forklift experience required
- Experience interpreting engineered drawings
- Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing and 5S practices
