- Serve as the primary operational bridge between IT and DevOps teams.
- Coordinate and track IT service requests across multiple IT subgroups (e.g., network, storage, virtualization, identity management).
- Translate DevOps deployment and infrastructure needs into actionable IT requests.
- Ensure that DevOps activities comply with enterprise security, governance, and change management policies.
- Act as an interpreter between technical DevOps needs and IT compliance constraints - able to explain IT governance and policies clearly to DevOps teams.
- Administer and configure Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket):
- Create and manage projects, repositories, workflows, and permission schemes.
- Configure integrations, automation rules, and access controls.
- Manage users, groups, and permissions according to IT policies.
- Maintain and support related servers and infrastructure, ensuring high availability, backups, and performance monitoring.
- Provide Windows and Linux system administration, including patching, service configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Basic understanding of Ansible, Terraform, and Packer.
- Be able to read, interpret, and troubleshoot Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Configuration-as-Code (CaC) scripts and templates.
- Ability to create or modify IaC/CaC scripts is considered a strong asset.
- Support DevOps teams in aligning IaC/CaC automation with IT-managed infrastructure and compliance standards.
- Identify recurring DevOps infrastructure needs and propose process simplifications within IT.
- Contribute to automation and self-service initiatives for DevOps (e.g., standardized VM templates, pipeline infrastructure).
- Document workflows, governance boundaries, and procedures for IT-DevOps collaboration.
- Collaborate with IT security, compliance, and architecture teams to ensure new deployments meet enterprise requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT Systems Administration, Infrastructure Operations, or DevOps support within a large enterprise.
- Strong technical knowledge in:
- On-prem virtualization platforms (Ideally Nutanix, otherwise similar)
- Windows Server and Linux administration
- Networking fundamentals (firewalls, VLANs, DNS, routing)
- Identity and access management (Active Directory, LDAP, SSO)
- Experience administering Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
- Working understanding of Ansible, Terraform, and Packer.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC) principles.
- Ability to clearly communicate IT governance policies and security requirements to technical teams.
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance.
