- Provide safe and courteous transportation services for residents.
- Follow designated schedules and routes while maintaining flexibility as needed.
- Operate wheelchair ramps and lifts safely and confidently.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bus (interior and exterior).
- Complete required mileage logs and documentation accurately.
- Ensure all safety protocols and driving regulations are followed.
- Promote a culture of workplace safety and wellbeing.
- Integrate health and safety topics into all education planning and delivery.
- Foster positive, respectful relationships with residents.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and protect resident dignity and privacy.
- Model Baptist Housing’s values and servant leadership approach.
- Contribute to a culture of health, safety, and teamwork.
- Valid BC Class 4 Driver's License.
- Clean Driver's Abstract (provided annually).
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Experience driving passengers, preferably seniors.
- Knowledge of safe driving regulations and defensive driving practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Calm, patient and compassionate approach to working with older adults.
- Understanding of aging, cognitive changes, and senior wellness is an asset.
