Role OverviewReporting to the Senior Manager, Distribution Centers, the Facilities & Health and Safety Coordinator provide operational, administrative, and facilities support to ensure the building, equipment, and work environment remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. The coordinator leads daily facility activities, supports health and safety programs, ensures adherence to environmental and security protocols, and oversees service providers and contractors.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesHealth & Safety Tasks
  • Conduct daily morning visual verification of facility and warehouse safety checklists.
  • Perform daily rounds ensuring all H&S equipment (AED, first aid kits, eyewash stations,…) are -functional and properly located.
  • Complete daily walk-throughs to ensure racking structures are in safe condition.
  • Maintain, update, and file H&S inspection logs, service appointments, and compliance documents.
  • Schedule and follow up on yearly H&S inspections with service providers.
  • Serve as an active member of the Health & Safety Committee.
  • Complete Section 3 of all incident/work accident reports.
  • Act as point of contact for CNESST inspections.
  • Ensure emergency exit routes remain unobstructed.
  • Maintain and record a logbook of the accident.
  • Train new employees on H&S and keep records of the documentation.
Facility (DDO)
  • Responsible for opening and closing the facility.
  • Respond to and oversee the security alarm system, including calls and interventions.
  • Conduct daily building rounds to identify and address facility issues.
  • Review and resolve open facility ticket logs daily.
  • Perform minor facility repairs and maintenance tasks (e.g., replacing light bulbs, tidying work areas, as moving furniture or hanging frames).
  • Clean warehouse floors; operate Zamboni when required.
  • Plan, prepare, and coordinate corporate and internal events (5–6 annually), including conferences and employee meetings.
  • Manage HVAC settings, office space reorganizations, and access control.
  • Escort contractors on site and follow up on work performed.
  • Maintain and update the facilities maintenance log.
  • Monitor and schedule equipment maintenance.
  • Support new DC employee onboarding with required H&S training.
  • Clear snow from entrances and emergency exits during winter months when required.
  • Complete any ad-hoc tasks or special project to optimize the building.
  • Manage the work boots process.
  • Act as a trainer to train new trainer on the floor (train the trainer).
Admin
  • Create purchase orders in Zycus.
  • Process Goods Receipts (GR) in Zycus.
  • Update and maintain the finance tracking file (facility section) and help to create accurate budget and forecasts.
  • Maintain and update all H&S and facility-related files, logs, tracking systems, and reports.
  • Assist with audit preparation, execution, and responses.
  • Review and address internal complaint tickets daily, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Maintain KPI records related to customer satisfaction, audit success, and cost effectiveness.
Other / DC L1 Functions (when required)
  • Assist with basic L1 warehouse tasks as needed.
  • Perform daily inventory cycle counts/audit counts.
  • Help to create documentation related to H&S and Facilities in order to perform the above tasks.
  • Operate forklifts as required.
  • Complete any other duties, projects, or ad hoc requests assigned by management.
Experience & Qualifications
  • High school leaving certificate.
  • Bilingual (English and French), strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • 2 years of facilities experience in a warehouse environment.
  • 1 year of warehouse operational experience (receive–pick–pack–ship).
  • 2 years of forklift operating experience (Stand Up Reach and/or Order Picker an asset).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and bend as required.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; advanced knowledge of Outlook.
  • Experience with WMS (SAP, Blue Yonder) and RF scanners.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Available for overtime and weekend work depending on project needs.
  • Customer-oriented with strong teamwork and communication abilities.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, accountability, and resourcefulness.
