Design Engineer
Location - Saint-Laurent, QC
Duration - 6+ MonthsJob Summary:
Power electronics design engineers study, research and develop ideas for new products and the systems used to make them. They also modify existing products or processes to increase efficiency or improve performance.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Development and testing of high-power power-converters, and inverters, from conceptualization to simulation, hardware design, control development and testing.
  • Develop and build prototypes to validate design concepts. Conduct rigorous testing and validation to ensure the robustness and reliability of power electronics systems.
  • Work closely with the embedded software, hardware, and mechanical team to support the design and development of the complete solution.
  • Prepare design documentation, test procedures, and product specifications.
  • Collecting and analyzing data from tests on prototypes
  • Modifying designs and retesting them
  • Must have general understanding of manufacturing techniques and equipment
  • Must be able to identify key components of a project and review those issues with Product Manager
  • Studying design briefs
  • Thinking of possible design solutions
  • Researching whether the design will work and be cost-effective
  • Assessing the usability, environmental impact and safety of a design
Education & Experience
Required
University degree in Power Electronics Engineering with 5+ years of experience
Strong proficiency in power electronic circuit design, analysis, and simulation tools
Strong ability to analyze, record, and interpret test data to determine product acceptability
Experience with international regulatory and product safety standards would be a plus
Good verbal and written communication skills.#TB_OTH
