Performs minor repairs in addition to inspecting repairs that have been completed by external service providers. Maintains the cleanliness of common areas, mechanical and electrical rooms, parking lots, and sidewalks. Performs landscaping duties, which include shoveling snow.This role is based at a 450,000 sq.ft. open-air shopping centre in Tsawwassen. You will have the opportunity to work on a small operations team. Key responsibilities include delivering outstanding tenant service and maintaining the shopping centre's immaculate curb appeal. The majority of the time, this role requires being active outside in all weather conditions. This position's regular shift will be Thursday – Monday, including weekends and statutory holidays, with anticipated hours of work being 10:30 am – 7 pm.This position will require on-call duties for various properties in the Lower Mainland, on a rotation with other Building Operations employees.Summary of Essential Job FunctionsPerform or coordinate necessary repairs and services following tenant occupant requestsMaintain exterior and common area light fixtures, replace lamps as necessaryRespond to emergencies on-sitePerform routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs, both indoors and outdoors (all weather).Clean and paint corroded equipment, shopping centre features/finishes as directedPerform janitorial tasks (tidying, sweeping, etc.) in mechanical/electrical and common areasCleans and maintains the exterior, including (but not limited to) all parking areas, garbage enclosures, roadways, landscaping of the shopping centre, including continuous litter pick up/disposal; some seasonal pressure washing; returns shopping carts to designated spotsEmpty garbage receptacles; wipe down the exterior of the receptacles so they are always cleanMinor snow removal on sidewalks and storefrontsRoof maintenance, including inspection and cleaning of drains and guttersMaintains inventories of operating and maintenance supplies, and coordinates the purchase of consumable supplies that are within budgetProvide input tothe supervisor on recurring maintenance activitiesAssist with coordinating external contractors for maintenance and building repairsAttend group meetings for the facilityParticipates in Occupational Health & Safety meetings (when required)Other duties as requiredRequired SkillsMinimum 2-5 years related work experience within commercial buildings (office and/or retail);Valid Driver’s License and reliable access to a personal vehicle are required.Effective communication skills (strong command of the English language);Excellent ability to work with a computer, Microsoft Teams, phone AppsExperience with Angus MRI is an assetAbility to lift 30lbs on average and the ability to walk distancesPleasant, cooperative attitude, and is a team player.Diligent and reliable;The ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a collaborative and respectful manner.Flexible working hours and able to respond to emergencies (on-call requirement)Excellent organizational and prioritization skills;Able to effectively multitask, recognizing and addressing important, time-sensitive tasksPursuant to the laws regarding job postings where the position is located, Colliers is disclosing the following information:Area/Location Specific: Tsawwassen, BCApproximate Salary Range for Role: $64,317 - $70,000Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
