Money Transfer Operations –Process wire payments
Payments Officer, located in Payment Operations, Scarborough, Canada is responsible for ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.Candidate Value Proposition:

- Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
- Responsible for prompt and efficient repair and verification of wire payment instructions received according to procedures governing these transfers. The payment instructions may be received electronically or manually. The verification officer is responsible for having detailed knowledge of wire payment formatting to ensure the error or formatting issue can be quickly identified and repaired.
- He/she is required to proactively take part in process improvements and quality control for continuous improvement.
- Work is completed in the most efficient manner to manage daily workflows including contributions to all queues in order to expedite execution of payments.
- Seeks to clarify inconsistencies or review operator errors and participate in establishing “best practices”standards to improve customer satisfaction.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

- Computer skills such as typing, using Microsoft office.
- Previous Banking experience
- Analytical skills and work independently.
- College degree or related experience.
