HUMAN RESOURCES ATTENDANCE CLERK
(Temporary Full Time Contract)SALARY RANGE: $38.88 per hourPOSITION SUMMARY:The Human Resources Attendance Clerk is responsible for collecting information, entering and maintaining relevant databases for all members of the Windsor Police Service for vacation, bereavement, E.S.A. days, Emergency Leave, and Sick Time and ensuring that the information is provided to the Payroll Clerk for reporting to City Hall.JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
  • Responsible for maintaining current attendance and leave records for all personnel and providing reports as required, including vacation records, sick leave (occupational and non-occupational) Bereavement Leave, Emergency Leave, Association Leave and any other special leave for the Service and providing reports as required.
  • Liaise with the City of Windsor HR Department, as necessary, regarding attendance and leave records.
  • Receive and reviewing all vacation/bereavement/emergency leave chits as submitted for proper signatures, ensuring consistency with the appropriate collective agreement.
  • Enter information into the vacation/leave database.
  • Gather sick leave reports daily, including WSIB in the absence of the WSIB and Attendance Management Specialist, and enter information in to the PeopleSoft system.
  • Prepare leave statistics / information as directed or required by the Director of Human Resources and/or the WSIB and Attendance Management Specialist, including monitoring of sick leave banks for employees.
  • Service internal counter responding to questions regarding sick leave/vacation balances and reports.
  • Maintain all filing for the Director of Human Resources and the WSIB and Attendance Management Specialist.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Possess a Grade 12 graduation diploma or equivalent, as recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Education, or completed post-secondary education at an accredited college or university as an adult student.
  • Must have a CHRP designation.
  • Must have up to one year pre-job experience.
  • Must be able to type minimum of Net 40 WPM.
  • Must be proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Must possess the ability to maintain the confidences associated with a Human Resources environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of Windsor Police Service Unit A and B contractual agreements and sick leave bylaw.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft, SharePoint and Versadex.
The Human Resources Attendance Clerk works a Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm.
